The Pink Tea
The Open Door Pink Tea was an uplifting and fun filled afternoon of socializing held at the beautiful Charlottetown Hotel on Sunday September18,2016. Over 80 women from across the Island came to support Open Door Outreach and the services we provide to women on Prince Edward Island during their toughest times.
Pink Tea attendees shared fellowship in a beautiful setting, enjoyed light entertainment, great company and High Tea while supporting other women.
What is a Pink Tea?
In the early 1900’s, influential women such as The Famous 5 worked together to create meaningful change. At the time many did not support this work and they were often forced to hide their activities. “Pink Teas” were hosted and presented to the outside world as traditional events with proper attire, food and ‘women’s agendas’. Yet the true purpose was focused on creating change in the lives of women and children at that time.
This is our inspiration!
