Our Staff / Board
Cheryl Millman has been the Executive Director of Open Door Outreach since it’s inception in 2005. Cheryl found her heart for ministry to the poor and marginalized through her volunteer work at The CoffeeHouse in the mid 90’s and left the church pastoral setting to start Open Door Outreach. She develops and facilitates programming for the women at the Provincial Correctional Centre as well as offers 1-1 mentoring. Recently she became Chaplain for the women at the Centre giving opportunity to lead weekly chapels, Bible studies and spiritual guidance. She is a graduate of Charlottetown Rural High,Tyndale College, University of Waterloo and Gordon-Conwell Seminary and is ordained with the Church of the Nazarene.
Wendy Hawbolt is the primary Program Facilitator at the Correctional Centre where she leads and directs our weekly Tuesday morning courses. She has responsibility for the financial and human relations aspects of the organization but also participates in one-one mentoring and chaplaincy roles in the Correctional Centre with the women. Wendy has a diploma in Addiction Studies from Mount Royal University and is soon to be an accredited Associate Addictions Counsellor. She has been working at Open Door Outreach from the very beginning in 2005.
Jerika Ramsay – Assistant Chaplain
Jerika is a graduate of Global School of Ministry in Pennsylvania, USA. She is a permanent staff member working with women in the correctional centre as Assistant Chaplain through her leadership in weekly chapels and Bible studies as well as providing spiritual guidance. She meets with women in the jail and in the community who are seeking 1-1 mentoring. She is presently enrolled in the Addiction Studies program at Mount Royal University.
Ann was on staff with Open Door from 2007 – 2012 as a Women’s Mentor. She now works on a contract basis with Open Door helping marginalized women deal with relationship issues particularly through the “How To Avoid Falling for a Jerk ” program and the “Be Curious not Furious” program she leads in the Correctional Centre. She and her husband Melis lead 4Better&4Ever, a faith based, non-profit organization, dedicated to providing education, mentoring and coaching for couples who wish to build thriving marriages. Ann has a diploma in Addiction Studies from Mount Royal University and is a John Maxwell certified coach, mentor, relationship/leadership educator and speaker. email@example.com
Dianne Weatherbie joined the Open Door Outreach Board of Director’s in 2008 and has taken the leadership of the Board as Chair since 2011. She is a Commercial Account Executive with the Cooke Insurance Group. Dianne is a community minded individual who is committed to the mission of rebuilding lives by empowering marginalized women. She and her family live in Charlottetown, PEI.
